Such a quiet, beautiful place! Our server was amazing, very attentive, and helpful. The presentation of every dish was just gorgeous, food is flavorful, rich, and delicious. My husband and I got guacamole, and we could tell it was made to order, as well as sopecitos, that were probably the best ones I’ve ever had! We got mole enchiladas and salmon bowl as entree, both were delicious!
Overall, it is a beautiful place with nice atmosphere, attentive staff, and tasty food.

Awesome Menu, food is great and the services is exceptional. I was able to try a few dishes and they were all great! Enmoladas, Tamles, and Enchiladas were great! Drink menu is also great! I would recommend the expresó martini and the Paloma. We went here to celebrate NYE and they delivered! Great place for Brunch or Dinner!

Taha does not disappoint. You will see from my countless reviews that I do not often give 5-stars. Taha is not perfect, but they sure do try to be. My wife and I are huge foodies and we're very excited to try the relatively new Mexican fair on the Plaza. You have to expect higher price points being located on the Plaza, but Taha delivers what is needed for the price.

We were pleasantly surprised when we noticed one of our favorite managers and relocated from am unnamed taco joint in Westport. It says a lot when Taha can pick up great staff.

We were sat within minutes of arriving with a reservation. Chips and three kinds of salsa were at the table when we arrived. Our waitress helped us navigate the drink menu we're we ordered two great drinks.

The best part was the food. Polzo, mole enchilada, and a fish dish. Everything was absolutely perfect and had such tremendous flavors.

The only suggestions I could make would be that the bar staff might step up presentations behind the bar.

Overall fantastic and we will be back.

New place on the plaza and the food is really good. The ambiance is great and the staff is welcoming. It feels safe here and it’s also nice to sit on the patio. They have mocktails and vegetarian options. The guacamole is fresh and the chips homemade. It’s refreshing to have good food at the plaza. I like the chicken tacos ?

You wouldn’t expect to start an upscale dining experience with corn fungus but here I was at this lovely Mexican restaurant near the plaza in Kansas City and I couldn’t resist. The restaurant is self-described as Central-Mexican cuisine with “an American Midwestern connection.”

I was intrigued.

I started my meal with the “Empanada de
Huitlacoche” which consisted of “Heirloom maize azul, huitlacoche, Oaxaca cheese, cream de maize” for $14.

Fine dining lovers says that “Huitlacoche derives from Nahuatl, a language of the Aztecs, which is still spoken in central Mexico. As Aztec farmers discovered blue-black spores overtaking their corn, they did not worry. They rejoiced. It was huitlacoche, which bestows a rich, mushroom-like flavour and makes for an excellent quesadilla filling.”

They were brave because if you see this on corn, at least my first thought would not be Oh let’s eat that and see what it tastes like. But alongside the Oaxaca cheese, it provides a rich smoky earthy flavor. Definitely a lovely way to start off a meal. The maize azul shell complemented the rich earthy textures of the fungus and cheese.

For my main course, I was debating between the Cornish hen with mole and the octopus. My server informed me that the octopus would be a lighter dish, and not being too terribly hungry, I went with that. Let’s just say if that’s his idea of a lighter dish I wonder how heavy the Cornish hen was! The grilled octopus came with roasted potatoes, a roasted tomato, and roasted morita peppers. Alongside it were two cremas with chipotle and tomatillos. As far as Central Mexican cuisine went, this had a Veracruz influence to it and reminded me of my visits there when I used to visit Central Mexico. It was delightfully grilled, but not overcooked. The octopus was tender. The roasted potatoes provided a nice counterbalance to the Kramer and the tomato with smoky paprika and sweet onions along with the peppers.

I was getting quite full after all of this, but I couldn’t resist dessert. It’s really hard for me to choose between a flan and a Tres Leche, on the advice of my server I went with the Tres Leche, which was incredible. The berries were fresh and flavorful, and came with a little carafe of sweet cream to pour over the cake. Along side of Cortado it finished the meal well.

Nice place with great atmosphere, specially with mexican music in the background. Highly recommend the mole enchiladas (particularly the red ones) and the chile en nogada. We were very happy to eat an authentic and really good Chile en Nogada during this time of the year (Mexican Independence). We didn’t really like the Scallop Aguachile Rojo as it wasn’t a true aguachile because the scallops were pan seared and the salsa was just spicy without a lot of flavor.
